Dennis has over 40 years experience playing the Great Highland Bagpipe. He has competed in solo piping events in his native New Zealand. Dennis is also very active in pipe bands, having performed with The New Zealand Police Pipe Band at the Grade I Worlds competition in Glasgow, Scotland, numerous times. Since leaving New Zealand and settling in Colorado, Dennis initially assisted a local pipe band in achieving the best possible sound and performance for competitions, events, and parades. Currently, Dennis is the Pipe Major and Musical Director of the Fort Collins Pipe Band.
